Top African Destinations in September

August 31, 2017

Africa in September won't disappoint. The temperatures are milder than in the scorching summer months. Much of the country is in the dry season during this time so you won't have to worry about flooding or mudslides. If you are anywhere near the following places, you should visit them if you are in Africa during the month of September

Mount Mulanje In Malawi

If you are looking for a good view of Malawi, you can't really beat Mount Mulanje. At over 9,840 feet tall, it is central Africa's highest mountain. It has basins, wildflowers, monkeys and gullies. While the trek to the top is quite strenuous, it's definitely worth it.

Victoria Falls In Zambia And Zimbabwe

You'd be hardpressed to find falls that are as beautiful as these are. The first person to ever spot them was Scotsman David Livingstone in 1855. These falls are intense, as they double the rate of Niagara's flow at 12,800 cubic meters per second. There is nearly a 355 feet cascade where visitors can enjoy the falls. The mist from them feels great on a hot day.

Nyika Plateau National Park In Malawi

Waterfalls, plateaus and mountains make up this park. It borders the Great Rift Valley on the east which allows for an amazing view. The hills form slopes which are often used for vehicle exploration. There is a lot of wildlife that can be seen here including leopards, zebras and antelopes.

Table Mountain In Cape Town

This is a great location to visit in September. Visitors can take a cable car up to the top of Table Mountain. Here they can see views of the mesa and surrounding town. When they are finished they can enjoy the beach as it's one of the best beaches in the world.

The Great Migration In Tanzania

This is one of the most common reasons that visitors flock to Africa in the early fall. The Great Migration features over a million different animals including wildebeest and zebras migrating. Nowhere else in the world can you see this amount of animals in their natural environment.

Juma Masjid Mosque Mosque In Durban

This is KwaZulu-Natal's first mosque. Thousands of people visit this mosque each year as it offers a certain serenity to it. People from all over the world visit the mosque just to have the chance to stop and pray here and feel close to God.
