Enhance your South Africa adventure with our luxury stay in the Cape Winelands. Day 1 - Day 1 – Cape Town to the WinelandsWe include your scenic overland transfer today from Cape Town into the pastoral Cape Winelands. Upon arrival, check in to your choice of luxury resort: The exceptional Delaire Graff Estate or Le Quartier Français a stylish Relais & Chateau hotel in the charming village of Franschhoek. This evening is free to enjoy the evocative ambience of your hotel and to dine as you wish here in the wine and culinary capital of South Africa.
Day 2 - Day 2 – Exploring the Cape WinelandsAfter breakfast, set out with your personal car, driver + guide to experience the beauty and the bounty of South Africa’s esteemed wine country. With just you and your traveling party, today’s guided exploration will be flexible and can be tailored to your personal tastes. The charming vineyard villages of the Cape Winelands boast splendidly preserved Cape Dutch, Georgian and Victorian architecture and the entire region is encircled by mountains. Based upon your preferences you’ll spend the day exploring some of these villages - maybe Stellenbosch, the country’s second oldest city, or Franschhoek, settled by French Huguenots in 1688. You’ll also be able to visit picturesque vineyard estates and tour award-winning wine cellars. Along the way, of course, you’ll have a chance to sample fine red and white South African wines as well as Cap Classiques – South Africa’s answer to Champagne. History buffs will certainly want to include Boschendal, an historic estate with fine Cape Dutch buildings and priceless period furnishings. This full-day excursion includes lunch at one of the award-winning restaurants here in a region that’s as famous for its cuisine as its wines.
